Four-month-old Przewalski’s colt dies at zoo
A four-month-old Przewalski’s colt has died at the Smithsonian National Zoo, plainly breaking its cervix when it ran into a fence.
The Washington DC-based zoo said on Wed that the colt died at its Conservation Biology Institute inwards Front Royal, Virginia.
The colt was establish inwards the 2500 square-foot barn where he lived with his woman raise together with to a greater extent than or less other mare together with her filly.
Keepers establish the colt, born on August 15, amongst the fence, which was bowed outward.
The preliminary necropsy revealed a traumatic fracture of his neck.
The zoo said the grouping had access to a large outdoor yard.
