International horse sports confederation discussed

The concept of an international Equus caballus sports confederation has been discussed past times the FEI as well as the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA).
The concept was discussed amid representatives from 51 racing nations during the 47th IFHA conference inward Paris on Monday.
Delegates were briefed on discussions betwixt the IFHA as well as the FEI on the concept of an international Equus caballus sports confederation.
The confederation would practise a formal vehicle for co-operation betwixt the IFHA as well as FEI to encourage beneficial partnerships across issues mutual to both organizations.
A major trial for both organisations is the challenges some international Equus caballus movements.
IFHA chairman Louis Romanet, inward his closing remarks, said vice-chairman Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges had twice met FEI president Princess Haya to beak over the confederation concept.
This follows the affiliation of the IFHA amongst the World Animal Health Organization (OIE), which is working on the concept of a High Health, High Performances (HHP) sub-population of horses inward gild to facilitate their international movements.
Dr Brian Stewart, who chairs the IFHA’s International Movement of Horses Committee, told delegates that security international campaign of horses depended on the integrity of wellness certification.
