British horse owner loses appeal over ban
A Equus caballus possessor from Sussex, England, who was banned from keeping horses for 5 years, has lost her appeal over the ban.
Christine Hawkins, 49, of Ash Road, Horley, had admitted inward Oct causing unnecessary suffering to Tommy, a bay colt, too Yankee Doodle, a greyish roan colt, who became extremely sparse inward her care.
Hawkins appealed at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday on the grounds that horses were her livelihood every bit she was a saddler too riding instructor.
The gauge dismissed her appeal too told her that the fact she was an equine professional person was an “aggravating feature” of his determination to ban her.
He too ordered her to pay a farther £300 costs.
