Canterbury dominates Springston Trophy three-day-event

Canterbury teams dominated the 2012 edition of pony club’s Springston Trophy three-day-event competition, amongst View Hill Red emerging the victors inwards the contest at Motukarara.

Hosted past times the Waihora Pony Club together with run on their grounds at the weekend, the cross-country also took inwards purpose of the Motukarara racecourse.

Just 21 teams started inwards the trial this year, downwardly from previous competitions. Springston Trophy is the largest pony lodge teams trial inwards the Southern Hemisphere.

View Hill Red led from the dressage stage amongst 127.37, but were overtaken on the cross-country past times Amberley White, which ultimately finished second. Eyreton, winners inwards 2010, were simply behind these 2 teams inwards all 3 phases, finishing 3rd overall.

Halswell was fourth, simply ahead of the Amberley Red team.

In the Wooden Spoon contest – for teams who didn’t consummate the cross-country – the composite squad from Otipua/Waimea/Greymouth  won from Mosgiel, amongst a composite North Otago squad third, together with the Clyde/Southern composite squad fourth.
