Second gold honour for showjumper Nick Skelton

Olympic Team Gold showjumping medalist Nick Skelton has ane time to a greater extent than been honoured for his win at London 2012, alongside a 2nd postbox painted gilt inwards his birthplace of Bedworth, Warwickshire.

Royal Mail honoured gilt medalists alongside a postage issue in addition to a gilt postbox inwards their domicile town. Skelton’s outset is in Alcester, where he straight off lives.

But after a Facebook campaign, Royal Mail agreed to bring a 2nd mailbox painted for Skelton inwards Bedworth.

Kevin Wise, who started the campaign, told the BBC that Bedworth residents had been “ecstatic” over Skelton in addition to Team GB’s showjumping gold. “On the twenty-four lx minutes menstruum that Nick won the gold, spirits inwards Bedworth were absolutely high,” he said.

“Everybody was ecstatic that he’d won in addition to likewise over the fact that Bedworth was going to have a golden postbox. And later, when it appeared that Alcester would larn the golden postbox, everybody was a flake downhearted.”
