Hawley Bennett-Awad, the Canadian eventer who savage on the Olympic cross-country at Greenwich Park on Monday, has been released from hospital.

Bennett-Awad, of Langley, British Columbia, parted companionship amongst Gin & Juice, a 12-year-old thoroughbred mare she co-owns, at the 3rd fighting of the London course.

The 35-year-old rider continues to improve, together with was released from infirmary on Midweek afternoon. She volition stay inward London for a few to a greater extent than days.

Bennett-Awad suffered a concussion inward the fall, too equally a fractured sacrum, a os at the base of operations of the spine.

The Canadian equestrian team’s Kerri McGregor said Bennett-Awad was kept inward infirmary for longer for handling due to discomfort amongst her tailbone.

She was the highest placed fellow member of the Canadian eventing squad later the dressage phase.
